How does the energy actually reach me?
The physical electricity still travels over the existing public grid. VoltVillage handles the trade and settlement layer: when you buy from a neighbour, their surplus is matched to your consumption and the money moves directly between you instead of through the utility.
How do I pay for energy?
Top up your VoltVillage wallet by card. Every purchase is deducted from your wallet balance instantly, and you see the neighbour price plus the 1.5% fee before you confirm.
When do I get paid as a seller?
Your earnings land in your wallet the moment a trade completes. You can request a payout to your bank account from €10 upwards; payouts are reviewed and sent within a few business days.
Why is everything settled in euro?
Trades and payouts settle in EUR. You can switch your display currency at any time — prices are then shown converted at an indicative rate so you always know roughly what you are paying.
Can I cancel a trade?
Trades are instant and final because the energy is consumed immediately. If something looks wrong, contact us with the trade time from your Activity page and we will investigate.
Do neighbours see my address?
No. Other neighbours only see your display name and that you are on the same micro-grid. Your street address is stored privately and used only for matching.
