Privacy Policy

This policy describes how VoltVillage handles personal information. It reflects how the app currently works and is not legal advice — have it reviewed before relying on it commercially.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address and sign-in method.
  • Micro-grid details: the neighbourhood or grid you belong to, and address details you choose to add.
  • Marketplace activity: your listings, purchases, wallet balance and transaction history.
  • Payout details: the account holder name and bank account you enter when requesting a withdrawal.
  • Technical data: basic logs needed to run the service securely.

Why we use it

To create and secure your account, match buyers with sellers on your micro-grid, settle trades and platform fees, process payouts, provide support, and prevent fraud or misuse.

What other members see

Other members can see your listings, your display name and that you are on the same micro-grid. Street-level address details, bank details, email address and wallet balance are not shown to other members.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary with the service providers that run VoltVillage: our hosting and database provider, our payment provider for wallet top-ups and payouts, and our email provider for account and transactional messages. We do not sell personal information.

Retention

Account and transaction records are kept while your account is active and afterwards for as long as needed for accounting, tax and fraud-prevention purposes. You can ask us to delete data that we are not required to keep.

Your choices

You can access and correct your details in the app, remove saved payout details, and request a copy or deletion of your data. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to certain processing or to complain to a data protection authority.
