Terms of Service

These terms are provided by VoltVillage, the operator of this marketplace. They are a plain-language starting point and are not legal advice — have them reviewed before relying on them commercially.

1. What VoltVillage is

VoltVillage is a peer-to-peer marketplace where members list surplus rooftop solar energy and other members buy it. VoltVillage is not an electricity utility, network operator or supplier. Physical delivery of electricity continues to happen through your existing grid connection and your own supply contract; VoltVillage handles the matching, accounting and payment between members.

2. Accounts

You must create an account to trade, provide accurate information, and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. Accounts are for individuals and households on a participating micro-grid.

3. Listings and trades

Sellers set their own price per kilowatt-hour and the quantity offered. A trade is formed when a buyer confirms a purchase against an open listing. Trades are settled immediately from the buyer's wallet balance to the seller's wallet balance and cannot be reversed unilaterally. You agree only to list surplus energy you have genuinely produced.

4. Wallets, fees and payouts

Wallet balances represent amounts held for you in connection with marketplace activity; they are not a bank deposit and do not earn interest. VoltVillage charges a 1.5% platform fee on the value of each completed trade. Sellers may request a payout of their available balance to a bank account they own, subject to the minimum shown in the app and to identity or anti-fraud checks. Payments and payouts are processed by our third-party payment provider under its own terms.

5. Currency

Trades settle in euro. If you choose another display currency, the amounts you see are converted at an indicative rate for convenience only and may differ from the amount actually settled or paid out.

6. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service: no fraudulent or fictitious listings, no attempts to access other members' accounts or data, no automated scraping, and no use of VoltVillage for money transfer unrelated to energy trading. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

7. Availability and liability

The service is provided on an "as is" basis and may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance or reasons outside our control. To the extent permitted by law, VoltVillage is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for disputes between members about energy actually delivered by your grid operator or supplier.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app. Questions about these terms can be sent to sabine@voltvillages.com.
